There are many things to do when you are at Sand Mountain, some of which are:

- Riding across all the smaller dunes
- Doing donuts on your four-wheeler
- Just camping out and having fun
- Visiting some of the most talked about places in the park

Here is a list of dangrous things to avoid when you go to this awesome place:
- Riding at night without a light or a phone
- Riding without the proper requirements
- Abusing the time you are suppose to come back to camp
- Riding of trails
- Riding in restricted areas
- Riding without a helmet
- Ride with tall flag to avoid a head on collision over hills
If you disobey these rules you might get hurt or at most you might die.
But, if you do obey these rules you will have a grand time riding, spending time with your family, and having fun.
Also when in sand mountain keep in mind that, when you are about leave and you have a big travel trailer. It is a good idea to have a close friend nearby, just to make sure someone could help you out of the area to the open road. The sand is very easy to get stuck in and you usually don't want to ask for help. But, if you absolutely need to ask for help you won't be as embarrassed if you have a good friend nearby.
If you don't have a friend with you you could always rely on the park ranger to help you get home fast and safe.
